Retrak was founded in Uganda in 1994 and, since 2018, is a member of the Hope for Justice family. They enable street children to move from a life of vulnerability, exclusion and poverty to a life within a positive family or community context. They work with children and family members to ensure children are healthy, emotionally well, safe, educated, and families are economically independent. HDF’s grant strengthened Retrak’s support services for vulnerable street children in Malawi, including through drop-in centres managed by Chisomo Children’s Club.
